Chapter Text
Anyways, I blacked out.
Yeah how nice of the fates to let me finish a conversation before knocking me out. Lovely! So kind!
My head hurt like Hades, which is kinda weird because shouldn’t pain come after I wake up?
An oddly chipper voice came into my head, “Hi, I received a message from Lord Zeus! He didn’t give me a scroll of it or anything, so I’ll just relay it. Oh oh! I can use my impression of Father! Lovely, hahaha!” The Voice, that I was now pretty sure was Hermes, cleared their throat, and recited, “Perseus. I’ve so graciously rid our world of a thorn in our side, but my brother doesn’t seem to be very pleased with the sentence of his lastborn; as a compromise, you’ve been mercifully spared and transported into an alternate timeline. You have one job: help the crew make it back alive to their homeland. Fail, and start over. Succeed, and you will be allowed to come back to the real world.” The Voice finished. “Haha! That’s all! If you don’t mind, please rate my services using Yelp! @ Hermes’ Messages: Don’t Shoot the Messenger!”
The main thought in my head after The Voice- Hermes, finished talking was Why is he asking for a yelp review? Because the Hermes I know is less… insane, so it has to be this timeline’s Hermes.
And then I woke up. The two men, Polites and (I presume) Odysseus, were staring at me.
"How long was I out?"
Odysseus spoke after a moment, "what?"
"How much time was I out?"
"Nothing? You just blinked."
