“Shit, shit,” Will scrambles to the floor-length mirror he’d found propped up on a dumpster at the end of his Freshman year. He pulled at his sweater and fluffed his hair. “Coming!”
He trips over his feet rushing to get to the door, before freezing to glance at the tiny apartment. His sketchbooks are everywhere, his bed is unmade, and he hasn’t scooped Bowie’s litter box today. There isn’t time to do anything about it now.
Taking a calming breath in, he yanks open the door.
There, in his doorway with a giant goofy grin, stands Michael Wheeler.

Mike has failed in his attempts to move on with his life and is back home, living in his childhood bedroom in Hawkins, Indiana, after dropping out of college. When Will cancels his trip to Hawkins for the first time, Mike decides to be impulsive and drive to Chicago.
