   Summary

   William “Will” Jacob Maldonado-Hooper just moved into Hawkins, Indiana, from Lenora Hills, California. He and his family have to learn how to function in a small town while also trying to find his place in his new school. It’s not easy when he is so different from everyone else, and it’s especially not easy when a group of kids starts picking on his step-sister. At least the sun is nice, and maybe a boy in Will’s biology class isn’t as bad either. He and his friends have been very welcoming of Will, and even though the guy’s friends are an open book, this guy —Michael “Mike” James Wheeler— is becoming quite the enigma for Will.
