The phantom’s eyes are round, no longer like the blades they so often are. There’s no predator and prey, only Tommy and Wilbur.
Tommy’s throat chokes as he swallows another call, only prompting Wilbur to ask again.
“What’s- what’s wrong?”
Tommy squeezes his eyes shut and tightens his hand over his mouth, trying to stifle the next begging screech that pierces the air. He can’t stop his crowing. The unanswered pleas for love, for protection, flock, family, somebody, anybody-
Tommy looks up.
Wilbur.

Summary
“You’re going to answer me, pup, or you’re not going to like the consequences.” Techno warns him, and Tommy nods his head slightly, trying his best not to get on Techno’s bad side.
“Good,” Techno practically purrs, before he tilts his head every which way, as if he was looking for something. His chest rumbles deeply in a reassuring manner, as he tries to get Tommy to calm down like he was some small little pup. It works, no matter how much Tommy hates that it does but the noise has his muscles relaxing, the tension draining from his limbs.
Techno gives him a pleased look, rubbing his massive thumb along his cheek, tracing one of the scars there. Tommy tries his best not to wither under his intense gaze.
Or Tommy gets himself into trouble with the Syndicate, a dangerous trio of mer, and ends up becoming part of their pod.

A wrist was pressed against his mouth. “Drink,” Technoblade said into his ear, and any lingering hope that he might just kill him here or better yet just let him die from his injuries instead of dragging him back to their sire withered away. Tommy kept his mouth shut. “Drink, now, or you’re going to die.”
Scorned fledglings either had a sympathetic adult vampire take them on as a substitute sire or died. The first was not an option for Tommy. Everyone knew the moment he managed to wiggle out of the cruel grip of his own sire that helping him was a death sentence. In fact, coming face to face with any vampire meant getting dragged back to those who'd laid claim to his blood. Few wanted to go against the Sleepy Coven; all wanted to gain favor with them. His fate was to die on the street at best. At worst... well, that's why he’d ran.
Yet, he ended up blessed by circumstance (for once) with a third option curtesy of his best friend Tubbo whose hands were stained with magic and who was willing to do what was necessary to keep him alive, bloodsucker or not.
(I adore all of the Dark SBI vampire fics, but I'm also a wimp, so I want it to all be a horrible misunderstanding and for them to all hug at the end.)

Summary
Tommy is a hero. His name is Avian, the protege of the great hero Dream, or Breakneck as he's known to the public. When he wakes up alone in a cell after a battle he braces himself for the worst, Dream had taught him all about the techniques that the villains known as SBI might use to get information out of him.
But he gets none of that, they're kind, they're sympathetic to his situation. Aside from Siren, he was a jerk. But the other two don't seem to want to hurt him like Dream had promised they would, like Dream had prepared him for. It was strange.
He keeps looking for a chance to escape, to run back to where he belonged. but they kept him locked up tightly.
But he had an advantage, he was immune to Siren's abilities, better yet they didn't realize. He could resist the orders they relied on to keep him there.
But as he searched for an opportunity, he felt himself feeling more at home in the villain's base than he ever had at his own home, in the hero tower.
And eventually, he finds that he doesn't want to leave, they've treated him better than Dream ever did. But he's conflicted. At least until he makes a mistake that should be his downfall, but instead, it shows him where he belongs.

That was Phil’s first thought upon opening his front door—that the kid on his front porch was so small. Too small for the warnings heaped upon Phil by the state, warnings of wild magic and dangerous words, of the treachery and trickery that came hand in hand with the legends of the fae. Phil had known many fae over the course of his lifetime, both kind and cruel. The kid on the front porch just looked like a kid.

The morning air was crisp and refreshing as Tommy stepped outside. He started down the familiar street, each step taken with practiced care. He kept his shoulder touching the wall the whole time, it helped him not run into people. The rough texture only slightly bothers him. Tubbo suggested he use a walking stick; it would help him walk and feel the surroundings but also make other people aware of his lack of eyesight. He said no, he didn’t want people to treat him differently just because he was ‘disabled’. He was a big man, he wasn’t a pussy that needed help. It’s the same reason he wore glasses. Not the blind people glasses, normal everyday glasses that still hid his eyes.

But Wilbur has been feeling... empty.
