Hotch didn't bond at the usual age, never got summoned. Somewhere in the back of his mind he always knew bonding was a possibility, but after so many years of being by himself, it started to seem like less and less likely. He preferred it that way, being unmated.
That's why it came as a shock and a nuisance when he got his letter in the mail at the age of thirty-seven saying the Council found his mate. Just great.

Omega Spencer knows that Mean Alpha Hotch is controlling him somehow and begs him not to put him under his trance (hypnosis or scent pheromones or something) but Hotch keeps controlling Spencer to be a submissive omega sex slave. Whenever Spencer “wakes up” he’s horrified by what Hotch made him do- tons of depraved sex acts, puppy play, group sex, being filmed, etc. Hotch never lets him forget- but during the trance he’s a super subby eager to please omega - eventually even out of the trance he is mindbroken to the point he no longer resists any commands his Alpha gives him.
