Summary
After a devastating invasion leaves hundreds of Meeden citizens missing, Border launches a desperate, high-stakes rescue mission into the heart of the Neighborhood. Led by Director Shinoda and spearheaded by the finest agents in Border, the expedition is armed with Meeden's finest technology—only to discover upon arrival that they are woefully underprepared for the reality of the Neighbourhood Stranded with obsolete charts that don't show the half of the Neighbourhood complexity and size, the "elite" squad finds their only hope for survival in Yuma Kuga, a cold, white-haired mercenary who navigates the planet nations with a lethality they’ve never witnessed. Yuma is a veteran of a thousand wars and a target of the very nation Border is trying to find, but he has zero interest in being a hero. Trapped together in their shared dislike of Aftokrator, a bitter deadlock is formed: will Yuma guide the stranded agents through the shifting paths of the Neighborhood in exchange for sanctuary. As Afto hunts for what they believe to be theirs, Yuma silently reads the fear behind the agents’ professional masks. Border owns the ship, but they are entirely dependent on a boy who doesn't care if they live or die.

Arashiyama goes on holiday, but that doesn't stop his fellow Border agents from getting into shenanigans with his temporary stand-in - the lifesize cardboard cutout of him that someone happened to borrow from HR and is definitely getting returned back in one piece in pristine condition. Or not. Featuring okonomiyaki meet-ups, mahjong circles, and a small explosion or two.
"What the hell are you guys playing at."
"Kizaki-san let Jin drive," drawled Ikoma. "Backed right over him. Now he's only half the man he once was." He angled the cardboard cutout, directing Arashiyama's frozen gaze at Kageura.
Kageura felt....nothing. Thank god. -

A stowaway with either incredibly good luck or just an uncanny ability to find herself in the strangest situations. Ruze finds herself playing surprising roles to survive, although there's clearly something different about her. Something not quite human. Is it the canines sharpened to a point, or perhaps the intense manner she holds herself with? Either way, people seem to be overlooking it as long as she's doing a good job. But when Border start to sense something amiss, a multitude of potential futures await.
