After Dogday's death in chapter 3, he finds himself reincarnated in the cartoon world of the Smiling Critters. There, he encounters his mortal enemy, Catnap.
To make matters worse, his friends start believing that Dogday has feelings for Catnap due to his strange actions around his former rival.This is my first attempt at writing, and I have no prior experience, so please be gentle with your feedback. English is not my native language, so I apologize for any mistakes.
The story in its early part will be similar to Mistaken Love by Agent_Fluffy321, with both lighter and heavier changes. However, from around chapters 7 to 10, the plot will take a very different direction.
I already have the story planned out — I know how I want it to begin and how it will end. What’s left is to develop the journey in between. You will also notice a clear difference in my writing style: in my opinion, it improves a lot, especially when comparing chapter 1 with chapter 2/3.
This alternate universe (AU) follows a concept inspired by Mistaken Love, but with several notable plot changes.

On January 30th, 2024, Chapter 3 of Poppy PlayTime was released and introduced the public to a set of 8 characters known as The Smiling Critters. The next year on the exact same day, Poppy PlayTime introduced another set of 8 characters of the exact same toy line called The Nightmare Critters.
Now, I’m educated enough to know that 8 + 8 = 16, that means that there are in total 16 characters, and once I pieced together that there are in fact 16 characters, it instantly clicked in my mind…
