The perspective follows main characters Lucy Gray and Coriolanus Snow, with some changes in perspective depending on the chapter. For context The story stays the same as the movie up until right before Coryo catches Sejanus talking to Lil outside the capitol jail But a horrific revelation comes to light changes their fates forever. The world fell and Panem was created as a plan to fix the world by the military and Government members in secret incase of an apocalypse. One massive city and 13 districts. Offcourse walkers exist in this universe so people in the districts and the capitol military/ Wealthy/ gov learned to kill walkers as they do in the walking dead series.

Kyle is not afraid of death. After everything he had endured, after the punishments he made to himself, he did not fear death. He learned at a young age that death is unpredictable.
That changed when he met his person, about a decade later or maybe more. He understood why death is terrifying, he understood too quickly when he saw the bullet. He understood he needed to protect his lover or else death will take him away too.
