Summary
When Percy Jackson crawls his way out of Tartarus, there is blood in his teeth, cruelty in his bones and a new world order in his hands. He was the beginning and he will be the end. He has long been angry at the gods for their injustice and cruelty, but he has never had the power to do something about it.
Now, he does.
It's always best to fight fire with fire, but what about fire with primordial darkness?
Or, in which, Annabeth escaped Tartarus but it held Percy back briefly because it sensed something. It eventually lets him go so Percy can return and help defeat the Giants, and get Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter to stop fighting. Everything should be returning to normal. And it is. Mostly.
But Tartarus has given Percy knowledge that changes everything he thought he knew about himself and the gods. He is different now and he can feel it, enough that he goes to Annabeth for answers, then Chiron, then his father. No one can give him the answers he's seeking. Except for one. And even she is not entirely sure, but she knows more than most, and that is all he can hope for.

Sure, the occassional trip to Tartarus might be an inconvenience, but if its that or having to deal with Zeus? Eh, easy choice.Now if the gods, and most notably that retarded old horse, would just stop letting tiny snacks run wild on the streets, that would make his life a whole lot less stressful.

The other children weren’t able to detect when someone was coming up behind them by the way their footsteps sounded, even if you were across the street. The other children couldn’t see the future or the past in their dreams or flashes of someone's fate when she looked at them. They weren’t able to hear the sound of someone’s breath from 30 feet away or smell their very scents from the same distance.
But Persi was okay with that. She didn’t need any of the other kids. They stayed away from her even if they couldn’t see her ever-changing eyes that could stare into your soul or her too-long fingers with claws instead of nails. But that was okay, she told herself, she had her Mom, she had her parents letters, she had her grandmother, and that was all she needed. Until it wasn't, She wasn't ready for the family she'd find, and the people ready to throw their hearts behind her.
But damn it all to Tartarus if she wasn't ready to fight tooth and nail to keep them close, to keep them safe. To love them back.
