I don’t know, she thinks, unbidden, as her arms tighten around him. He obliges, leaning in closer, his head ducking. This way, they’re closer to eye level. Tim only needs to push himself up a little bit to his tip-toes to slot her lips into his. She wants him to kiss her, though. She wants him to want her—to touch her first, to yearn for her just as badly as she does for him. It's only fair, she thinks a little childishly. I want him more than anything.

Summary
They’re soaked wet to the bone, fingers interlinked, as he drags her through the streets. This city, Saint is beginning to learn, is different from home. At least at home, there’s still some degree of sunlight, but there’s none of them here. Here, it’s a perpetual state of just rain—constant, wet, and beautiful.
Tim doesn’t agree.
She has a hand over her eyes, squinting against the rain, and Saint laughs at her. Even the rain in this city tastes different—thick, like it’s heavy with something—and he smartly doesn’t mention it. Tim’s just going to use that as ammunition, claiming something about the pollution and whatever else tainting the rain from inside out. Saint knows poison, though, and he knows what it means to be poisoned—and hadn’t that been a rough first few months in a brand new city—and he’s decided it’s worth it.

Tim never thought there could be anything to make him hesitate. That there are parts of him he has to compromise, to give away, to hide because he’s now a foreigner on foreign land. She thinks about it for a beat and realizes she’s never heard him speak in Indonesian before. Not even when he’s asked to, not even when he has the chance to. It’s kept tightly under the lid, hidden beneath lock and key.
“You remember it in another language then?” she asks, even though she knows he does.
“Yeah,” he answers with a shrug. “I know what it is in Indonesian, but I deadass cannot remember the word in English.”
He says it lightly, like it’s a joke. Like maybe if he treats it with levity, she’ll let it go and let him forget, and it’ll all be dandy again. Tim’s not good at glossing over things once she’s noticed them though. So, she asks.
“What is it?”
He blinks. “What’s what?”
“The word,” she says. “In Indonesian. What is it?”
Or, 5 times Tim Drake asks Saint Valentine to translate for her (and the 1 time she doesn't need it.)

Except Robin dies- and takes her heart right with him. Then her parents were abducted, held for ransom, and despite the authorized payout they died too...
Now she's Thea "Birdie" Cobblepot, Jason Todd is back from the dead, Bruce Wayne is on her shit list, and if that damn clown dares to so much as touch Jason again she'll start a whole war to end his miserable life.
