Once Will’s eyes found his again, Hannibal raised a brow expectantly.
“Knew there was something fishy going on when you were completely fine with me going out by myself,” he said and let the bag on his shoulder fall to the floor. “Get it? Fishy?” he raised the fish up and chuckled to himself.
Hannibal did get the humorous aspect of what he said, but found the actual joke unfunny. “Very funny,” he replied nonetheless, just to be polite. “Would you like to participate or observe?”

Locard's Exchange Principle; Every contact leaves a trace. It states that whenever two objects come into contact, a transfer of material occurs. Perpetrators will bring items to a crime scene and they will take items away, leaving physical evidence behind, a ‘silent witness.’ The principle asserts that it is impossible for the criminal to act without leaving something behind, no matter how small. Beyond the scope of forensics, the concept is also used to describe how emotional situations leave a residue on individuals.
Will is almost accustomed, at this point, to the way that his job and the people he interacts with leave something behind within him. No contact is made without a trace left on either party. When yet another strange killer begins to move through the states, Will is once more forced to deal with the traces that each case leaves behind, but this time things seem to be closer to home.
Between this new killer, his relationship with Hannibal, his relationship with himself, and the weird new fascination Hannibal seems to have with farmers markets, he can’t say that he’s entirely sure what’s going on anymore.
At least his brain’s not on fire.

Leon Kennedy feels as if he is on the verge of falling into something he cannot come back from. His pain is deep and overwhelming, and he feels abandoned by everyone except Hannibal Lecter. The one source of stability in his life is his pseudo-Uncle, and that connection feels more and more real every passing day.
Albert and AleXander deepen their own bond while Albert pursues a serum which may give AleXander a chance to live normally. Meanwhile, Albert pushes for something more permanent of his own with Hannibal, even as he notices the piercing eyes of Will Graham watching him with something very like jealousy.
Hannibal manages the games he’s laid out for himself with his usual aplomb, and plans a fitting return for his alter-ego to the spotlight. His nemeses – Jack Crawford and Will Graham – wait for his first move with bated breath.
Meanwhile, a clever young sadist puzzles at the game she’s been handed, and the fate of an innocent child lies firmly in her hands. While a crusader hunts her for information on the recent death of Councilor Simmons.
As the games wear on, the question presses: Who will eat whom? Well that entirely depends on who slips up first.
