It has been three years since the disappearance of Jayce’s disease-addled laboratory partner, Viktor. With the two of them working on groundbreaking research into weaponry for vampire hunters, Jayce suspects foul play. His search leads him far from Piltover, following rumours of a healer called ‘The Herald,’ who can cure any ailment, whose description matches that of his long-lost partner.

Summary
Viktor has learned to see himself as a relentless machine —not by conviction, but by necessity. Built to endure, to succeed, to survive. His goal is simple: enter Piltover’s most immaculate institution, stay at the top of the list, and graduate without spending a single coin of his own. The scholarship will take care of that. It always does. Or it should.
Piltover, after all, is efficiency dressed in velvet silk. Capitalism polished to brilliance. A city that rewards excellence while pretending inequality is merely an unfortunate side effect. Viktor enters it abruptly, carrying an education that doesn’t quite fit the mold and a body that is already beginning to fail. His lungs are not rotting —not yet— but they remind him, persistently, that time is a finite resource.
Jayce, meanwhile, belongs. His place is legitimate, his path well-documented. “Viktor! You came!” The joy in Jayce’s voice was almost enough to wince at.
“I promised I was coming,” Viktor replied. His tone was apologetic as he added, “preparations took… ehh, a bit of time.”
Jayce could tell why. Viktor’s face was framed in a thin layer of make-up, brushed on enough to give the impression of a clean slate. It brought a tinge of red to his cheekbones and a bold to his eyes that Jayce had trouble tearing his stare away from.
“Well, you look…” Jayce hesitated for a moment, trying to place the word. “...You look good.”
Or, Jayce invites Viktor to a gala, Viktor shows up horribly late, and they decide to take the final dance. (and maybe kiss at the end)

Viktor had no idea Jayce could play guitar, so he's surprised to hear music from his apartment one evening.
What started as a simple task of dropping off a forgotten folder turns into one of the most depressing nights of Viktor's life when the overheard lyrics hit just a little too close to home. Having no one to talk about it with, the only solution he has is to go home and drink it away. And maybe cry into his pillow for a bit, but no one has to know that.
