This is a prequel to Infliction. I meant to write this as a drabble after shit happened, 12,666 words later with a full fledged day in the life of John Sheppard. Not just any day either. Its the same day of the year he lost Charlie. It explores a bit more of what the life they had together looked like and their relationship. It also gets in to how John springs Todd from Earth later, how John ended up relapsing before they went back to Pegasus, and how the stargazing and beer started for John and Todd. I feel like this is some important set up for the sequels I have planned. I'll probably edit this summery later. I finally found the fanfic that partially inspired my writing of this series, so I'm going to go ahead and link it here.

John felt it would have been reasonable for the guy to at least, like… blink or something when told he would have to pretend to be John’s boyfriend when they went back to Earth for his father’s funeral. Neither of them were entirely sure how that came to be the SGC’s brilliant solution to Ronon accompanying John without raising any questions, but John figured it could have been worse. His family knew he was bisexual – and given how much of a point of contention it had been with his father, he felt a smug satisfaction at bringing a “boyfriend” to the guy’s funeral – and Ronon was a catch, if he was honest.
