Summary
Sunny Suzuki, despite having too much on his plate already, had told his friends the truth about Mari's death, lost his right eye in his fight with Basil, lost all of his friends, and spent his sixteenth and seventeenth birthdays in a doctor's office. Not to mention, the effect that everything prior had on his mental and emotional health is starting to become frighteningly apparent. Now, he's 17 1/2, living in a busy apartment, surrounded by exhausting traffic, rude classmates, and an overworked mother.
That is until he answers a call from Kel for the first time since he left; he finds himself diving into a spark of determination to fix his broken relationship with his old friends and make things right again.
AKA, he takes a trip to Faraway during most of his winter break (1 week, 12/26 - 1/2) with Kel, Hero, Aubrey, and Basil. He spends New Year's with them.
Takes place after the good ending.

Sunny was a boy who contained multitudes. After years of unhealthy coping mechanisms, he had developed a whole lot of colorful and varied characters in his head, some of which were more conscious than others.
On the day of White Space's fifth anniversary, an announcement rings out in Headspace, it says that the "Five most special ones" will receive a gift shortly.
The Dream Friends are given the ability to take control of Sunny's real world body, just like Omori can, but what exactly will they do with that power? Omori isn't exactly thrilled at the idea of having to handle all of this, and neither is Sunny.
One thing is certain: some things won't end well.(Despite the similar subject matter, this fic isn't related to my other fic "Coming Out (Not In The Usual Sense)"!)

Summary
Sunny risked his life to escape his dreams. When he moved, he left it all behind. His friends, Headspace, the piano, and the broken violin... Mari. All of it is behind him now. Kel still calls on occasion, inviting him to spend the summer with them, but despite how much he wants to visit, he can’t bring himself to go back to faraway.
...Until one day, the landline to his new home gets a call from the new folks who moved in to their old house. Ever since they found the broken violin, strange things have been happening in the house. A figure with long, black hair in the mirrors, the piano playing itself late at night, and a haunting eye, staring at into the house from the backyard. Sunny doesn’t need to question them further. He knows who it is.
And so, with nothing but a suitcase full of clothes, some cash, and a ticket to faraway, Sunny embarks on a quest to find out that his dreams may have more power of the real world then he might have realized, and to answer the call for help, or blood, that he knows his sister calls him to.

I'm not claiming any character as my own: Credit to Eggsoupery/Chell (https://eggsoupery.carrd.co/#) for the Our Thoughts Will Follow AU series. It's just amazing, you should check it out. And obviously you need to be familiar with the plot of the AU to understand the story.
For those acquainted with the AU, fic begins at the 40...ish minute mark of Chapter 8. At first there's some retracing of the AU with minor changes to some lines.
As a short summary: it's a Basil-centered fic, taking place in OTWF AU, covering a 'what if things went differently' scenario. I know it's a bad summary, I never was good at explaining things.

Omori wins, and Sunny falls, only to end up surviving. The only thing that could make a bad ending worse is if he had to face the people he hurt after leaving town to treat his injuries.
Two years after his failed attempt at the hospital, Sunny is invited to Kel and Hero's home by their mom for the summer. With his sister still by his side and in his head to keep him safe, the boy goes to confront those he had left behind. Only now, he isn't the only one stuck in the past, and the brewing emotions bring back the one thing that had torn them apart six years ago.
