As with 'Bringing Death', story #15, this one will have multiple short stories occurring at various times and places with many distinct characters, some of whom you've met and others belonging specifically to this story alone. Unlike with that other story, these are only loosely tied together as the conquest of North America moves apace in sweeping agony from many viewpoints. Horrific crimes are committed on all sides, resulting from multiple miscommunications and sheer disregard of the others' mentalities on all fronts, though there are small sparks of hope to keep the looming darkness at bay.
