Summary
They say the corpo-life is soul-crushing. They're right, but some manage to get out of that life with their soul intact. Xenji, or Xen, Shimada is one such case. He didn't leave the corpo life voluntarily, but he would rather set himself on fire than go back to that life. An artist using merc work to fund his real passion, Xen thought things were looking up...until they weren't. His detective brother gets murdered by his own partner and the Tyger Claws. Xen wants revenge, but a botched heist that would have funded said revenge leaves him with no team and a relic stuck in his head that is slowly killing him. Along the way, Xen finds comfort in the arms of fixer Dino Dinovic, and eventually Kerry Eurodyne. He finds a comrade in detective River Ward, the badge reminding him of his brother, and new friends who prove that not everyone in Night City is out for themselves.
This is Xen's journey. Buckle up and bring your barf bags. The ride may get bumpy.

There was blackness, her chest had hurt, and then suddenly she was gasping for air, struggling to keep her head above crashing waves. “Not much.
