“Do you control them? The wings?” Her head tilted in question. “No.” He answered almost disappointedly. They both startled when the aforementioned appendages unfurled, stretching languidly above his head before dropping to his sides. “They are beautiful wings, Spite.” She smiled fondly. Lucanis groaned, almost rolling his eyes. “Don’t encourage him.”

“How is your… tea?” He wrinkled his nose. “Sweet, intriguing.” She said, swirling the contents of her cup. She’d ordered a Dalish style brew, with lavender cream and honey. One of her favorites. “Like a first kiss. You should try it.” She mimicked an edited version of his earlier words, glancing at him coyly over the rim of her glass. He arched an eyebrow, raising his own mug in return. “I could be persuaded. If you try mine.” Rook bit her tongue to keep from saying something foolish.

After dealing with the fallout from Weisshaupt, Renya "Rook" Laidir decides the gang needs a fucking break and makes them all take a much-needed vacation to the Rivaini coast. Only, with a group like hers, there's always trouble on the horizon. Maker knows she has her own troubles, such as her new relationship with the handsome necromancer already on the rocks and the arrival of a troubling figure from her past.
Anyone need a palate cleanser after the Siege of Weisshaupt? Good lord, why couldn't we get a scene like in Inquisition where the gang is just...playing cards or something?
Rated E for shEnanigans....but also eventual smut.

After swearing himself to the Grey Wardens as a child, twenty two-year-old Dalgar Thorne is finally allowed to take The Joining. He and two other recent Warden recruits head out into the Wandering Hills under the guidance of Senior Warden Olivier du Lac; there they will bring down their first darkspawn and prepare their vials of darkspawn blood for the ritual, shrouded in secrecy.
At least, it's a secret from most recruits. Dalgar has known the hard truths of The Joining for years, and he is more than willing to make that sacrifice to secure his place among the Grey Wardens. But his fellow Warden recruits may not agree.
Once their small party is deep in the wilderness, the two other recruits—a young human named Conrad and Sybil, an elven graverobber—reveal that they each have very different plans.

“It will scar,” Yanek had warned him, as gentle as she could be as she was stitching his cheek together, his tama stroking his hair and shushing him as he’d cried from the pain. “There’s nothing I can do about that. It will be big, and it will be unsightly.”
He hadn’t cared much in that moment. Everything had hurt, his bones and spirit broken, and all he’d cared about was that he was home with his family, and his tama holding him. A scar hadn’t seemed to matter much then; he was just grateful to even be alive, having thought - and even wanted - for a horrible moment that he would die in that barn.
Living with the memory carved directly into his skin, however, proved to be just as difficult.

Viago scoffs, almost. There is something halfhearted about it, like he wants to refute what she says, but only gets part of the way there. It doesn’t matter— she’s already picked apart the pieces of any argument he might make.
Years before the Dread Wolf aims to take down the Veil, Teia recruits a thief (an elf, a mage, a spark) from the gutters of Salle—and gets exactly what she bargained for.

Captain Kost Thorne has spent the majority of his life at Weisshaupt, after being adopted by a Grey Warden. His whole life's dream was to be a Warden just like his father, but the Wardens thought him too delicate, too fragile to ever join their ranks. He proved them wrong, but after fighting so hard for this dream, he doesn't know how to stop fighting. Our beloved Crow, Lucanis Dellamorte, takes notice, and asks Kost a simple question: "Who are you?"
I really wanted to write a story exploring Kost's identity and how he doesn't really know much about himself outside of being a Warden! He eats, sleeps, and breathes for the Grey Wardens, and while he always gives advice to his friends and loved ones, urging them to take care of themselves, he doesn't follow the same advice!! I thought someone should talk to him about it, give him a lil reality check :3 Hope you like it!!!
