Summary
Todd Brotzman died. It sucked, but also his life kinda sucked. Made sense that dead end jobs led to his literal... dead end.
What he wasn't expecting was the job offer after he died. He gets to stick around and all he's got to do is snatch up some souls? It's not the best job, doesn't pay anything, but he'd do anything to be able to keep an eye on his sister, especially now that her brother had died and left her basically alone.
And the reaping isn't so bad. It's steady and consistent. At least until one of his marks proves especially difficult to pin down.

Dirk gets a mysterious message that obviously scares him, but he won't talk about it. His odd behaviour is enough to prompt Todd to bring in the whole team, just in case.
It's a good thing he did as Dirk's past catches up to him dramatically, and he needs his friends to support him through it.
Featuring All Of The Characters: Dirk (of course), Todd, Farah, Martin/The Rowdies, Amanda, Mona, Tina, and Hobbs. Protective!Everyone because everyone loves Dirk and wants to keep him safe and warm and no further than 5 metres from a hug at all times. That's just how it is.

The trio discover that toothpicks are not to be taken lightly, Mona is a useful ally in dismantling booby traps, and holistics really need to unionise. But at the heart of this chaotic tale of intrigue, romance, and betrayal lies one burning question: was it actually Professor Plum in the library with the candlestick?

“Did we fuck?”
That’s what Dirk was asking.
And that’s what made Todd’s brain screech to a stop like it had done last night. The immediate flashback of trying to disentangle from a very warm and enticingly naked Dirk, that his brain generously supplied him with, also did not help matters.
“Er… uhh…. Yesterday? Did something happen yesterday? I don’t know, man. I woke up beside Farah all covered up in glitter.”
The lie was out of his mouth before he had even consciously thought about it.

OR, Todd ends up sleeping with Dirk on the night of Sound of Nothing. However, he freaks out and lies when asked about it the next morning. But since the Universe works in absolutely assholish ways, it immediately supplies Dirk with another guy named Todd who gladly owns up to sleeping with Dirk the previous night. And this guy is everything Todd's not. Tall, well-built... But he is also something that Todd absolutely is- a filthy liar. One intent on permanently remaining attached to Dirk's lips.Todd knows he should tell Dirk the truth. But owning up to a lie is way more difficult now that he knows what the aftermath of it can be.
