Syril Karn and Dedra Meero meet aboard the Celestial—the largest vessel ever built to cross the galaxy, traveling a long-distance route from Ghorman to Coruscant. Syril, a simple Ghorman citizen longing for a new life on Coruscant, falls for Dedra almost immediately. She, a high-ranking Imperial Supervisor, shaped by duty and relentless expectation, is unwilling to indulge in anything resembling romance. Duty comes first, and the constant pressure from her superiors leaves her guarded, tense and uncertain about her own future.
As the journey unfolds, Syril finds himself drawn not only to Dedra, but to the cracks beneath her carefully controlled exterior. Can he help her confront the conflict between obligation and desire—and prove that trust does not have to be a weakness?
Inspired by Titanic, this story mirrors many of its themes and moments, reimagined not on the sea, but in the depths of space. Each character carries a symbolic parallel while remaining true to their canon personalities. This work is being posted as it is written, so updates may vary.

Syril wraps her in skinny arms and pulls her against his chest. The heat of his body seeps through the multiple layers of clothing they both wear. And he doesn’t smell like smoke. He smells… clean, a mix of soap and laundry detergent. She’s close enough that she can hear the beat of his heart alongside the thudding of her own. It’s fast but not too fast, and the illusion of safety allows her own heart to fall into a calmer pace. The softness of his embrace slowly begins to overwrite the feeling of hands clutching her legs. Even the blaster fire seems quieter now that he’s holding her. Perhaps she won’t die, after all.
In the aftermath of the riot on Ferrix, Syril and Dedra create their best approximation of love.

Summary
When their transcontinental train crashes in the middle of the German mountains, Dedra Meero and Syril Karn are left injured and stranded in the woods with no food, no water, and no way back to civilization. Their only choice is to stay together and survive, leaving behind the people they once were and the lives they used to have.
As Dedra tends to Syril’s injuries, he tells her stories he heard during his previous international travels: A story of fanged, blood-drinking creatures that seduce and hunt human prey. A story of a prince who, trapped in a thick forest with his beloved, cuts open his own thigh to let his lover drink his blood to quench her thirst.
Dedra doubts that anyone would ever go that far to save the person they love. Syril is about to prove her wrong. Both of them will have to deal with the consequences.
