Urabrask is not a particularly hopeful person. But now, as Norn threatens to seize his people's freedom, he has no choice left.
In the darkness he screamed out to the fire in his blood to save them, and Capenna is what it answered. So he burns himself half to death to fetch a weapon that could devastate his own, just to gamble at a chance for freedom.
After all, isn't a gamble the best thing the Phyrexian people have had in a long, long time?
This is a rewrite of "The Side of Freedom" from Streets of New Capenna story, from Urabrask's perspective, from his initial scrying to his fateful conversation with Elspeth Tirel. -

A reworking of the Streets of New Capenna set plus beyond to help me develop my OCs and wrap up some SNC plotlines that seem like they've been abandoned in favor of the Phyrexian plotline. And then suffering beyond that because I'm a big fan.
