while Cale was on the run from his obsessive family, a black orb, similar to the thing he had seen before being taken by the sealed god, kidnapped them to a modern theatrics room. The gods were at their last straw, and, since direct interference with mortals is prohibited, could only summon them to watch the future that should have unfolded had Cale's family not been so obsessive. Even the god of Balance had allowed it, and that speaks alot.
