The man who stands in the front entryway is nothing like Zhuo Yichen once imagined.
He’s wearing a soft gray turtleneck; a long white scarf drapes down his front on each side, not wrapped around his neck for warmth. His hair falls to the back of his neck, bangs parted in the middle to just touch his cheeks. Thin-rimmed glasses rest on his nose, giving him the look of a respectable, relaxed professor. He has a single earring in one ear that glints as he smiles, warm and disarming; practiced.
He doesn’t look at all like someone that burned their offices down and forced Zhuo Yichen’s brother to leave the profession eight years ago.

Hope is also in a form that all creatures yearn for; freedom. It isn't a simple desire but a definite need for it. Caging a creature for too long will result in a deeper longing for freedom and Zhu Yan understood the feeling more than anyone.

Zhao Yuanzhou ha vuelto a leer su novela favorita, de la cual es adicto.
Han pasado varios meses desde que la releyó, ya que los estudios han consumido parte de su tiempo. Con los exámenes aprobados y las vacaciones llegando, merece su recompensa. Decide esa tarde volver a leer la historia. Al llegar al primer encuentro de su personaje favorito con uno de los villanos (el gran demonio) una fuerte migraña lo desconcierta, provocando que deje su libro caer contra el suelo.
El dolor es tan fuerte que al intentar pararse se marea, y con el mundo girando, pierde el equilibrio, impactando su frente contra el escritorio tras caerse, desmayándose.
Cuando vuelve a despertar no se encuentra en su cuarto, aunque su cabeza siga doliendo. Ahora está parado, sosteniendo un youzhi de papel rojo con decorados tradicionales, mientras mira una enorme puerta de lo que parece ser un palacio antiguo, del cual cuelga un cartel, medio caído.
