“Well, my friends, we have an unprecedented situation here!” Nedzu smiles out over the conference room table as he claps his paws together. “Two podium winners from general education — and both from your class, your very own protégées at that, Yamada! You must be so proud!”
There’s an image of the podium winners on the projector screen, Midoriya Izuku wearing the first place medal, Shinsou Hitoshi wearing the second place medal, and then each wearing a third place medal, but unimportant to this narrative, however well they may have done: Todoroki Shouto, and Tsuburaba Kosei.
Hizashi is indeed smiling brightly, nearly vibrating out of his seat. Normally, either Aizawa or Nedzu himself would discreetly pass the blond a fidget item but Nedzu rather thinks after a sports festival like this one, there is nothing that will stop his protégé from fidgeting until he gets his energy out — Nedzu understands, in his own way, the excitement that comes from seeing your protégé succeed, for every time Hizashi climbed the ranks or had done something exceptional, Nedzu remembers his own delight.
He thinks if he’d had two protégées succeed in such a fantastic manner at the same time, he’d probably be uncontrollable too.

Something was wrong. He could feel it in his bones. Something was very fucking wrong, and Katsuki wanted to rip his own skin off just to make the crawling sensation stop. Out of bed, pants on, shirt over his head, he practically ran into his slippers as he crashed through his own bedroom door. The hallway was too long. Way too fucking long. He wasn’t waiting for the elevator, he took the stairs up to the third floor and straight to Deku’s room.
“Deku!” Katsuki whisper-shouted at the door, banging on it with as much reserved anxiety as he could muster. “Deku, open the fucking door.”

OR: After the war, Katsuki promises to always be there for Izuku - one night, his phone rings, and he finds Izuku in need of help.
