Years have passed, and Jayce still feels the familiar weight of the hammer in his hands
The pain in his leg is a daily reminder of his mistakes. The silence of his existence echoes against the clamour of progress and reconstruction in Piltover and Zaun. Everyone moves forward, everyone grows older and settles down. Everyone is recovering and mourning with nostalgia and respect for what has been lost and those who are gone. Everyone is moving on... except him.Five years have passed since the war. Jayce survives after being returned from the Astral Plane and lives in a world where Viktor has has died irrevocably.

En el momento en que sus miradas se encontraron, Charles comprendió que era demasiado tarde. Erik lucia agotado. Sus ojos estaban fijos en los de Charles. Charles deseo por primera vez desde el incidente en Washington poder entrar en su mente y saber qué es lo que pasaba por esa mente brillante que una vez llego a conocer tan bien. Los ojos de Erik, tan verdes y penetrantes seguían fijos en los suyos. Se sintió tan impotente y un poco asustado de lo que Erik pudiera llegar a hacer en el lugar. No había sido planeado encontrarse así. Ni siquiera había considerado la posibilidad de volver a verlo, pero ahí estaba, en medio de ese edifico gubernamental atacando a cuanta persona estuviese a su alcance con su mutación. Honestamente, no podía culparlo.

Or; Viktor was adopted by Vander and Silco, and witnessed the fight they had after Felicia’s death. Because of this, he developed many trust issues that will make his relationship with Jayce even more difficult to navigate.

After Viktor and Jayce put an end to Hextech, Jayce wakes up in his mother’s arms. Confused as to if he is dead, he discovers that he has been given a chance to correct the path laid before him:
To never invent Hextech in the first place.
Or
Jayce fixes things, lives his life again, and waits for Viktor to join him.
Oh, and what's that about Zaun?
