Summary

The Demon King has been defeated, but not without a terrible cost.
After they fall from the sky, Link discovers that Zelda is no longer the princess he once knew. Zelda chose to sacrifice her heart and mind just to give him a fighting chance, and now, in the aftermath of the battle, he must come to terms with what that decision truly means.
For some sacrifices are not so easily taken back.

“Princess!” he yelled after her. “Where are you going?”
“Back to the castle,” she replied without stopping.
“Not by yourself you’re not!”
“I’m sorry,”—she whipped around—“I didn’t realize you were my father?”
“Your father, the king, would execute me for letting you travel by yourself.”
“Oh, so this is about self-preservation?”
“Yes. Yours. There are monsters all over Hyrule now, Your Highness.” Blue eyes pointedly looked her up and down. “And by the looks of it, you’re not equipped to handle that.”
She mirrored his scrutiny and scoffed. “What, and you are?” She gestured to the cairns beyond the trees. “Are you going to protect me as well as you protected them?”Calamity is here.
The Goddess Hylia appointed but two children to prevent the end of the world. The powers they were promised don't come easily, and after years of failure, Princess Zelda can't help but wonder if Hylia chose wrong. It certainly doesn't help that the boy fate has tangled her with makes her seethe.[This story is set in a fusion of BotW/TotK, with a couple tweaks and some familiar faces'n'places from older games joining along the way!]
