The violent snap of her seatbelt locking against her chest.
The sound of Ted promising he’ll wait outside for her.
The headlights fill the windshield.Her hands move before she decides and the car moves with them and she gets almost a bit of the road between them, but she knows it's not enough.
There’s just enough time for one silly thought to flicker through her mind.I’m going to be late for dinner.
