Summary
Pein has decimated Konoha and half its population along with it, revealing the frightening power of an enemy far beyond anything Konoha's heroes have ever thought possible. Seeing him is a literal nightmare come to life, but Sakura is a professional. She bows politely and does not let her hands tremble. "I look forward to working with you."
"Likewise," Madara says, perfectly polite and yet clearly not meaning it. Clearly dismissing her, because she's a young, pink-haired, civilian woman.

This story even managed to make me cry.
