Diego has been sitting on a thought for a while now: How did Five adjust to his identity so well? I mean, he knows that the kid read Vanya’s book. And she had the courtesy to at least use his name and pronouns in the godforsaken thing. But he must’ve looked like a complete stranger - an imposter. He was 13, forced to see his dead, transitioned sibling. Five hasn’t once slipped up on his name or pronouns since he’s been back.

Well, yeah, Klaus probably would have said, if he was in possession of a human mouth. Five would never let me cuddle if he knew I was fully capable of processing that fact.
“You’re doing this because you want cuddles from Five?” Ben echoes incredulously, once again displaying his eerie grasp of knowing what Klaus is going to say even through rain, shine, a gag, six grams of cocaine, the lack of speech, etc. “Klaus, they think you’re going to cause the apocalypse.”
Five thinks everything is going to cause the apocalypse! Klaus protests. Maybe I’m trying to introduce light into his cold, dead heart. Via dog.
Or: Klaus spontaneously turns into a dog, unbeknownst to anyone. Five adopts a new apocalypse. The end is nigh, but surely they can all take some time off to play with the dog, right?
