Summary

Masterfully upsetting. I expect I'll be thinking about this story for the rest of my life.
Arrangement is a harrowingly incisive exploration of how the letter of consent and the spirit of it are not the same thing. The story places a very cognisant focus on the mundanity and familiarity of having one's emotional needs completely disregarded but with the right kind of hooks woven into the right kind of weak points to ensure one's participation in being exploited and abused anyway. Dizzyingly intense in the scale of the manipulation being depicted, but never feels any less true to life for it.
