Steve pulled into the driveway and honked his horn, then sat back to wait. It usually took the kid a few minutes to come out no matter how he let him know that he was ready.
He was not expecting Dustin to immediately come through the door and stop right at his window. Dustin wasn’t quite dressed- he looked like he still had pajama pants on, and he definitely wasn’t wearing any shoes. His hair was more wild than usual, too. Steve gave it a second, but Dustin just stood there and stared at him. With much trepidation, Steve rolled down his window.
“Mom wants you to come inside,” Dustin told him immediately.

Harry Potter was very lonely. Tony Stark was very lonely. He and Pepper had recently broken up. His friends had betrayed him, and he was now forced to live with the very same people who had hurt him. He didn't think he could take one more blow and stay standing under it. Tony didn't have family; he didn't know what to do with family; too bad Tony's family wasn't sure what to do with him either, but they were going to give it a hell of a try anyway.
