‘Oh damn guys,’ John B looks up from his phone, breaking the silence of the room, ‘you broke up again.’
Kie turns to him and raises a questioning eyebrow, John B flashes his phone screen to them showing off the collection of photos and link to an article on instagram, advertising JJ and Kie’s alleged breakup.
‘Well that sucks, Kie only found out she was pregnant last week,’ JJ jokes, referencing another rumour they stumbled across recently.
It’s always the same, and always born out of nothing. Just bored people on the internet who think they are somehow entitled to the details of her private life and terrible people who blatantly lie to make money.
‘What happened this time?’ Kie asks JJ, who’s grabbed John B's phone and is scrolling through the pictures.
JJ spares her a quick glance, ‘I cheated on you.’
‘Asshole,’ she teases.

Because they have a history, him and JJ, and those words call back to a comment he’d made at the Boneyard a year ago, immediately followed by JJ punching him in the face.
So, Rafe knows what’s going to happen next before it does: JJ goes still, and then he snaps.

‘Working? Why? Not even rich assholes are dumb enough to go out to the club during a Hurricane.’
JJ reaches one arm up to the tree branch above him, half swinging off it lazily until he can get off the phone and start to climb.
‘They just needed help packing shit up before the storm.’
‘Don’t they have grounds staff for that? You’re a busboy, JJ.’
JJ rolls his eyes, half tempted to just hang up on his best friend, why the hell is he pushing back on this so much? He thought it was a totally plausible lie.

Nobody answers. Nobody meets her eyes. Pope’s still tracing circles in the grease. Sarah presses her mouth shut so hard it’s white.
Kie's eyes are watering and her voice is way too loud as she turns to JJ.
“And you -- Fuck! You always do this. I'm tired of it, Jayj! Just talk to me!”
____________The Pogues made it through hell.
They won. They’re in love, together, happy - at least that’s how it should be.
But when the clouds clear and the dust settles, they’ll learn that living isn’t as simple as surviving.Set post S3. S4 doesn't exist here.

"Don't play stupid, kid, it ain't a good look for you. You know good and well what you did."
A sudden thud shook the wood of the old dock, making it creak and sway and causing bits of plank to fall.
When the dust cleared, Giovanni bit down hard on his tongue to stop himself from gasping, because now that he could see both people above him, he wasn't sure the person opposite Percy was, in fact, human."

Percy spun around at inhuman speeds, jaw dropping open and eyes widening. Annabeth walked, no, strutted through the courtyard. Her hair was perfectly curly, Ravenclaw cloak, adorned with a new prefect badge, whipping behind her, calculating grey eyes focused straight ahead.
A strange noise escaped Percy’s lips, which caused Piper and Jason to burst into peals of laughter. Annabeth walked right past, without so much as a glance in their direction.
Percy turned back to his friends and ran his hand through his hair - somehow even more red in the face than before.
“You are such a dork,” Piper comforted him with a pat on the back , “a hopelessly in love dork.”
