After the Asset pulled Steve from the river, he didn’t know what he was supposed to do. He didn’t have orders, and he didn’t have a mission. He was on the run from the law, and he was on the run from whoever remained of HYDRA. He couldn’t face Steve, and he couldn’t face himself.
A few weeks passed with him barely hanging on, and it seemed that no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t seem to do anything right. To him, life didn’t even seem to be worth living anymore…
And then he rescued Alpine, or rather, Alpine rescued him.
