Summary
In a mountain, standing like a knife against the eastern sky, there lived a hobbit.
Not a cold, draughty crypt of a mountain, filled with cries of the dead and pain of the living, nor yet a new-born colony, striking out its place in the world. It was Erebor, and Bilbo Baggins had made the choice to remain six months prior, after the Battle of the Five Armies had solidified the Kingdom as one to be respected once more.
Something in his pocket began to stir.
Or: Bilbo Baggins discovers The One Ring. Everyone has a bad time.
(This is a sequel. The previous works total around 13k, including a one-shot of skippable smut. All smut associated with this work will be placed in skipabble side stories. “It’s something I’ve been working on, for Thorin. It’s a … chronicle. Of our adventure.” Bilbo thought that would be fine thing for Thorin to have, but suddenly he found himself wondering if it was a suitable gift for a king. “That is… right, isn’t it?”
“Yes,” Kíli said eagerly. “Since you’re not one for dwarven crafts, that is. It’s a work of your hands and a very symbolic one too. It’s perfectly appropriate.” He was practically glowing, though when Bilbo glanced at Fíli for confirmation, he found him unusually pale. But then, Kíli was elbowing him rather hard, and perhaps in a place that was still tender.
Bilbo's fake-it-'til-you-make-it interpretation of dwarven culture is working quite well for him, thank you very much- all the way up until it really, really isn't.

Summary
Bilbo is quite convinced that all the problems plaguing them in the mountain - specifically, Thorin acting quite unlike himself - stem from the blasted Arkenstone. The thing is probably cursed, and it's up to him to get it as far away from Thorin as he can - and while he's at it, he might as well try to stop a war before it starts.
Rather than offering Bard and Thranduil the Arkenstone, Bilbo offers to give them his share of the treasure if they will please go away. Unfortunately, neither of them is willing to believe Thorin will hand it over - which leads to a ransom plan that is, in Bilbo's opinion, quite ridiculous and doomed to fail from the start. But at least that blasted stone is out of the mountain.

Summary
Hobbits were known to be practical. Everything was easily explainable, from a missing pie to a sudden chill in the air. No proper hobbit would dare risk their reputation by even suggesting a supernatural explanation for something that had a practical answer. And of course, with out a doubt, ghosts simply, irrevocably, definitely did not exist.
Too bad no one thought to tell that to the ghost currently haunting Bag End.

Summary
After the Battle of Five Armies Thorin and Company have a new task: rebuilding their reclaimed home. Suddenly Bilbo finds himself up to his ears in responsibility and he surprises himself with how well he can navigate negotiations with elf dignitaries, farmers in Dale, and a dwarf king who has patience for neither.
But as Spring approaches a caravan from the Blue mountains brings something everyone had nearly forgotten: the dwarf woman Thorin promised his hand to many years ago.
Which is fine. It's all fine. It wasn't like Bilbo was falling in love with the king or anything.
That would be tragic.

There were few better in the world who knew how it felt to linger on when all others had gone. Such was not a curse gifted only to the elves, and the immortal kind.
In a shabbily raised tent on the wreckage of a battlefield Thorin had plagued upon his people, Thorin gasped and bled. He finally thought death would do the kindness of passing him by.
But it seemed that Bilbo Baggins was not done with him yet.

By a curse or a blessing from the Valar, Bilbo finds himself repeating the same horrific day of war outside of Erebor again and again. His repeats are always triggered when someone from the company falls. He suffers days and days on his own before the others begin to repeat the day with him.
One would think that with the whole company, an elf king, and a bowman all knowing what was to come, Bilbo would have an easier time getting them all through the day alive.
One would think that, wouldn't they.
