Summary
Grian was once known as Detective Xelqua, the Watcher’s Hero Agency’s most effective weapon against vigilantes. He uncovered nine vigilantes’ civilian identities in six years before disappearing, leaving the title behind along with the damage it caused.
When the Agency recruits him again to hunt down an unyielding new vigilante known as HotGuy, they offer him closure and a way to fix his past mistakes. Instead, Grian finds himself facing a case that mirrors the ones that destroyed him in the first place.
But if he finishes this job, he’ll finally be free.
Or, Grian is a former detective who uncovers the civilian identities of vigilantes, and Scar, better known as HotGuy, has been getting on the Hero Agency’s nerves.

Scar couldn't stop replaying the press of fingers at his hips, the taste of smoke on Grian’s breath, the scratching of grass blades against his pants as Grian pushed him onto the ground. It all blurred together— sweet one moment, hazy the next— as if he couldn’t decide whether it really happened or if he’d dreamed it.

The way Grian’s voice had dipped, the way the words curled at the edges. The thought burned in his chest, sharp and impossible to ignore.

Truthfully — the hardest part about designing this game had been exactly that.

Summary
The vex grinned down at him, the expression just as sharp as it had been the evening before. He took a step away from Grian, raising his hands up in mock surrender as he looked almost on the verge of laughter.
"Calm down, little sheriff, I'm not going to hurt you yet."
Grian froze. Every single defence system he had ever created in his mind went up all at once, and he folded his arms in front of him as skills he'd spent years without using suddenly bubbled back up to the surface.
