    Summary

“Dragon.” He greets, and right before the sharp ‘click’ that ends the call reaches his ears, he still manages to say: “It’s about your father.”

The Den Den Mushi immediately starts ringing. He stares at it, tempted to just let the call pass but the same madness that made him call in the first time makes him pick it up with a sigh.

    “He’s dead, isn’t he?"

"Close, but not yet.” Sengoku replies. “He wants to see you.”

    Summary

The morning after that night in Karai Bari, when Miss Nami learned that Crocodile had fed Luffy in the night, she had covered a laugh behind her hand and said, “Well, enjoy reaping what you’ve just sown, buddy.”

He’d just given her a flat, unimpressed look. “All I did was make a few extra of the sandwiches I was already making for myself. That hardly seems like the sort of action to invite consequences, even where Straw Hat Luffy is concerned.”

But she’d just grinned and swanned off, leaving behind a smug, “You’ll find out,” as she sent her captain off to find the rest of their crew.

Luffy, excited to see Crocodile again after bonding with him on their visit to Karai Bari, launches them into the jungle, where the pair have to go back the long way. While their crew search for them and Luffy has a grand adventure in the jungle, Crocodile decides this is a great time to have an existential crisis about the baby he left behind.

    Summary

Viktor doesn’t want to be here. It had taken a lot of pleading, losing a bet, and even more pleading before Jayce had managed to drag him to the party, so, yes, of course he’s miserable.

Not that Jayce expected him not to be, though, to be fair to his partner. In all his begging he had verbally batted away Viktor’s attempts to put the words you’ll enjoy it when you get there into his mouth with an insistence that he doesn’t even enjoy these evenings much. And that Viktor owes him at least one, please, Vik, even if you hate it.

So, Viktor caved. And now he’s here. Hating every boring second.

or: this has turned into a bit of a series of jayce struggling with his poor mental health, but through viktor's eyes (now with a post-canon chapter!)

    Summary

The mind was a funny thing, Jayce knew.

This was far from his area of expertise, his entire life dedicated to the pursuit of scientific discoveries, developing new technologies, engineering solutions—

His knowledge in regards to certain matters was little to non-existent; no more than vague notions he might’ve picked up here and there, pieces of conversations long forgotten, concepts that somehow managed to find a bit of storage space in his skull, even if of a dusty, cluttered sort.

Possible symptom of prolonged solitary confinement: Hallucinations.
