“Dad?” Bakugou’s voice cracked as he turned toward his father, who stood with his head bowed low. “What’s happening? Please, I don’t—”
“Katsuki,” his father interrupted, his voice trembling. Masaru crouched to his son’s level, his face pale, his eyes glistening. “It’s just for a while. Just until you learn to control your quirk. You’ll be safe, okay? We’ll write, I promise. You’ll be back in time for your eighth birthday.”
He never did see his parents again. Never makes it to his eight birthday.
