It was as good as written on stone, though the ink was made of blood, and the sands of time came from the world of Geonosis. But how did the shadowy world of Umbara finally become the place of one of the Clone Wars’ most critical and bloodied battles? It was all in little things, starting with the life of a once-little Clone; the beating butterfly wings that became a hurricane.
Hindsight would never change the past; it can simply be used to frame the present, and the best anyone could ever hope for was that hindsight might shed more light on the future. This is the story of who became and was Captain Rex, past and present, the future left to the unknown.

Summary
The last thing he remembers is getting shot. As far as deaths go this was on the top of Fives’ list of possible ways to go. What’s weird is that he remembers things after that. He doesn’t know a lot about dying, but he always figured it would be sort of permanent. - Canon divergence AU inspired by the concept of Person of Interest wherein Fives finds out there's a very literal ghost in the machine by the name of Echo, who insists that there are plenty of people in the galaxy who need saving, starting with everyone's favorite clone captain. A.k.a Fives lives and gets Echo back, but not in the way he thought.

Once the Kenobi floodgates are opened, they cannot be closed. Cody has apparently been keeping an itemized list of disagreements, and he is determined to tell Rex each and every one of them.
Kenobi refuses to listen to Cody’s input. Kenobi throws himself into battle with no regard for previously established battle plans. Kenobi uses the Force so recklessly and obviously that every undercover assignment is blown within the first few minutes. Kenobi is a hypocrite who berates Cody for sidestepping protocol, but flouts it himself at every opportunity.
