Summary
After the events that nearly killed Peter, Jean Grey left a door open in her mind she cannot fully close. The psychic link is mild, one-way, and deeply inconvenient. Distance makes her powers slip in small, frustrating ways. Proximity settles them.
She keeps trying to board the bus north.
He keeps being the reason she doesn’t.

Summary
No one deserved to be alone.
It’s been a mantra that’s been on repeat in his mind for some time now. It came into full throttle when he met her.
Alone just like him.
Broken just like him.
Lost just like him.
Two broken souls trying to find their way in a world that moved on its own without waiting for them to catch up.

Summary
When Vex agreed to bring Saundor as her +1 to her brother's wedding, it had been a dream scenario. They were young, in love, and both breaking their backs for their careers, so a vacation to the Bay of Gifts was a perfect break for them to re-commit themselves to each other while celebrating Vax and Gilmore's nuptials.
There's just one problem.
They broke up, and now Vax is asking her to pay for that gap in the vacation, money that she cannot afford, so she has to think fast. Maybe her brain is working too fast when she tells Vax, then, that she actually does have a partner. A girlfriend who would love to come along for the trip in Saundor's stead! What luck, now she doesn't have to pay, someone else can enjoy the trip, and Vex doesn't look pathetic. The only problem is: Vex is still very, pathetically single, so she has to find someone to pose as her SO and fast.
Enter, Keyleth Ashari.
To Vex, nothing in this arrangement can go wrong (until she has to orchestrate a breakup, something that hurts to even think about at the start).
To Keyleth, everything can go wrong (because sometimes even looking at Vex sends her into a yearning tailspin).
Their only goal? Make it until the wedding.

Summary
Looking at her, wide-eyed through a hole in the wall where the door used to be, was an Undercity girl. She had pink hair and lemur eyes. She smelled of danger and sewers and crackling mortar.
She looked how she smelled, too.
"Oh shit," Caitlyn heard her say.
She was a thief.
Caitlyn's eyes were wide. Her breathing was frantic. She could feel herself losing blood as it poured down her face. She had never bled quite this much.
The other girl held her hand out.
Caitlyn took it.
