Tom reaches into his jacket's interior pocket and pulls out a small box wrapped in chic green and gold paper.
Greg looks down at it, blinking, eyes wide like he’s witnessing a Christmas miracle. “Wow,” he says through an exhale, well and truly in awe at Tom giving him a gift.
“Don’t blow your load too early Greg, it’s just wrapping paper. Open it,” Tom smiles, giddy. Tom’s always had a fondness for Greg’s sweet little surprised and delighted face as he receives a gift, maybe that’s why Tom feels such a deep urge to spoil him to hell and back.

“My uh. This guy I was. That guy over there, who just walked into the VIP section, I went out with him a couple times,” Greg says gesturing over to the other side of the club, but all Tom can think is... Huh. Greg was at one point going out with a guy.
Or: Tom and Greg's mostly typical night on the town is turned on its head when someone Greg used to go out with walks into the club, and Greg decides the best way to get the other guy to leave them alone is for the two of them to pretend that they're dating. Things go sort of, kind of, not at all to plan.

Tom had started to get burnt out on everything; the school, the teaching, the terrible parties thrown by the district to keep them from quitting. He loves teaching, he loves his students, the school suits him well enough. There’s just that monotony that comes with having the same job for ten years, things get stale and you long for a change of pace. And that’s what Greg did, changed the pace of the school day by making things feel lighter and more fun, changed the pace of Tom’s heartbeat when he smiled.
Or: After Greg's first full year of teaching high school, Tom and Greg attend graduation. Greg's emotional about the end of the school year, Tom's an old pro, and they both have terrible crushes on each other.
