Summary
Caitlyn, a dedicated software engineer working remotely for Hextech Inc. is consumed by work and little else, so when she is required to travel on business to the corporate office located in Denver, she hopes the greatly-needed socialization will revitalize her. What she doesn't expect is a rapidly growing crush on coworker, Vi, to take root, along with the complexities of making friends while navigating her social status in the company. “Guess I got curious about what fun stuff you got up to without us,” Vi’s voice was small.
Caitlyn’s fingers twitched. “I would have gone to the dinner if I was in the mood for that right now.” She spoke as softly as she could, making sure there was no bite in her tone.
“Well, that’s the thing, though,” said Vi, “you say you don’t want company but you haven’t kicked me out yet.”
Caitlyn looked at her over her shoulder. Vi was leaning against the door of the fridge, hands in her jeans pockets, features relaxed.
Caitlyn smiled lopsidedly, “Guess the delivery might just be special, after all.”
Vi snorted, “Stop stroking my ego to change the subject. It works.”
“I know,” said Caitlyn, brushing past her and going for the couch again.

“Studying.”
“I see. Take off your boxers.”
Vi’s mouth dropped open. The book nearly slipped from her hands. “I’m sorry... I think I heard that wrong.”
“You heard me perfectly. Take them off,” Caitlyn ordered, her fingers already flying through the buttons of her own blouse. “And be glad you aren't wearing those tight jeans.. you take forever to get out of those.”
Vi was actually a little offended. Those jeans made her ass look great, and she knew for a fact the girls loved it
“What? Oh... hey... no. My jeans are fine,” Vi stammered, trying to keep up. “And wait...slow down, Cupcake. You just got dumped by your girlfriend and now you want me to take off my boxers?”
“Yes. She pissed me off, and I’ve decided that riding you will make me feel better,” Caitlyn said it casually, as if she were merely ordering her morning coffee.
“Oh.”

It was all just teasing and recommendations, she wouldn’t force the woman to do anything if she really didn’t want to. “Oh and, I don’t believe Jayce told me your name. Or should I just keep calling you nerd girl?”
“My name is Caitlyn. And uh—“
“Alright Caitlyn, how about you have a martini on the house? From a friend of a friend.”
She couldn’t turn down the offer that Vi gave her, that’d be rude, right? “Fine, I suppose I can try,”
Vi grinned in victory “Coming right up!” she turned away to begin Caitlyn’s martini.
A few moments later, Vi set a glass in front of Caitlyn “Enjoy!” she said with a wink before turning to help another customer.

“Eh?” Vi blinked down at the girl, a bewildered expression. She said something back, only for the teen to cut her off with more rapid, and rabid, French, motioning to Caitlyn emphatically and then pointing to Vi.
Caitlyn watched them argue back and forth, feeling a bit put off over the fact she couldn’t understand the conversation that apparently involved her. With a dramatic eye roll, Vi peeled away to face Caitlyn again, hands on her hips.
She gave Caitlyn a deliberate look up and down, like she was scanning for a bomb at the airport and came away like she was disappointed she couldn’t find one.
“Tell you what, city girl, I have to go and do some sap collecting. Why don’t you come along for a quick tour to pass the time while you wait?”
