“...a bad dude I made a deal with in order to take down an even worse guy,” the Dean on the small screen explains. “If he gets out, it’ll be bad news, but Cas can seal him, at least for a little longer than I can on my own.” The recorded Dean rolls his eyes. “And, yeah, my solution was kinda stupid, so we’re trying this first.”
“We’re not using your idea,” a recorded Castiel says from off-screen.
“I said we’re trying this first,” the filmed Dean insists.

“I’m suggesting we watch the preview before we buy the movie,” Dean snarked.
Castiel’s look of confusion only deepened and, for once, Sam was right there with him. “…You know, skip a few chapters in the book. Check out the dessert menu before ordering dinner. I mean, if Zachariah can show us where the future’s heading, why not Cas?”
Dean's not thrilled about Sam's plan to say, "Yes," to the Devil and spend an eternity in the pit, so he proposes taking a road trip 15 years in the future to see how it all works out in the aftermath of the Apocalypse.
Sam had thought he was prepared for what awaited him in the future, but a pregnant fiancé, a human Castiel, and a married Dean were more than he'd been expecting.

Summary
What seems to be a routine witch-hunt in Colorado goes awry when a few days later, Castiel ends up burning up with a fever, huddled in bed and gasping for air. The brothers are faced with the dilemma of having to deal with Castiel's illness, as well as figure out the cause of it. The catch, however, is that Castiel was never cursed by the witch. It was Dean who had been hit with a spell. Upon calling Rowena, the brothers find out all the answers they need, but executing those answers may turn out to be a little more complicated than expected. At last, it is up to Dean to cure Castiel of the witch's curse.
And the cure? 24 hours of naked, physical contact.
Dean has a lot to face— including his underlying love for Castiel, his emotional turmoil, and a grumpy, feverish angel who has taken a liking to cuddling.
