“I need the Bite of Unrequited Love for a potion I’m working on.”
Kazuya freezes. “What does unrequited love have to do with me?” she asks, so, so quietly.
Eijun shakes her head vehemently, mouth set in a firm frown. “I’m not spelling it out for you.”
“It’s been nearly ten years since we broke up.” Kazuya’s hands grip the edge of the countertop hard.
“I know.”
“You broke up with me, Eijun.”
“I know.”
Eijun doesn’t dare speak again. She knows how unreasonable this request is. It’s not Kazuya’s fault Eijun still loves her, and Eijun is under no delusions that Kazuya could feel anything in return. Not when it was Eijun who left.
Eijun needs the Bite of Unrequited Love for a potion. Luckily, she can draw the love part of it out of herself. But to complete the ingredient as a whole, she’ll have to draw out the other half of it—the half that’s no longer in love—from her ex-girlfriend Miyuki Kazuya.
