He looks away for one second and turns back immediately when he hears the crack of a twig and then Tooru’s yelp but it’s too late.
Tooru is falling and Hajime can’t reach him. He screams and begs for Hajime’s help and Hajime can’t reach him.
He wakes up disoriented, rubbing at his eyes, hoping he hasn’t cried this time. By the time he finds his phone, Oikawa has already sent him a message proclaiming that he’s alright and telling Hajime to not to worry so much and Hajime wonders, not for the first time if he really is capable of reading his mind.
