Summary
He was wearing scrubs, just like you, but yours had paw prints on them and his didn’t. “Hi?” his mouth had quirked upwards at your confused response. He made himself comfortable as the gears of your mind turned, trying to figure out if you knew this guy and had been rude for the past three Tuesdays. He settled his elbows on the table before grabbing the menu from behind the napkin holder.
“What do you usually get here?” He’d asked, as though the two of you were old friends.
It’d shocked you enough that you sat up, spine touching the seatback for the first time since you’d sat down ten minutes ago, “Do we know each other?”
He’d glanced up from the menu, once again meeting your eyes, “No.” Back down to scan the menu, and then, in a softer voice, “But you have dried blood on your face,” your eyes widen at his words, “and I think it’s scaring a lot of the staff.”

Summary
You never could have predicted the absolute whirlwind that would be set in motion the moment your cousin showed up at the Pitt requiring stitches. Your aunt berating the interns and your great-uncle sexually harassing Robby, you somehow ended up saddled with a supposed boyfriend you definitely didn’t have when you arrived at work.
But before you can even stammer out the truth, yourcousin is gleefully booking plane tickets and inviting your "man" to her fairytale wedding in Italy. You were already dreading the nuptials, but now the stakes are higher. You thought surviving a mere week with your family you could manage—after all, you’ve handled Myrna and the Kraken, you can handle chaos. But you hadn't counted on Jack.
Matters only get worse days before the wedding. The bride has vanished, the groom is drowning his sorrows in Chianti while reciting Shakespearean sonnets, and the bride’s mother is rampaging through the villa with the force of an EF5 Tornado. You are caught in the crossfire with Jack Abbott, a man who seems to enjoy baiting your relatives and stoking the flames a little too much. If you emerge from this sun-drenched Italian vacay with your sanity intact, it will be nothing short of a miracle.

Summary
Elizabeth Morgan is a child life specialist at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center—someone whose job is to step into the aftermath of fear and make it survivable. She’s learned how to stay steady when emotions run high, how to offer comfort without promising things she can’t control.
Dr. Jack Abbot doesn’t do comfort. He does efficiency, triage, and hard decisions made fast. In the ER, he’s blunt to the point of rudeness, allergic to small talk, and relentless about outcomes. What he doesn’t advertise—but what the people who work with him know—is that he notices everything, carries every loss, and never forgets a patient.
A late-night electrical accident puts Elizabeth and Jack on the same case, and then on the same stretch of nights. Their interactions are practical at first: clipped conversations, shared updates, parallel work in crowded hallways. But over time, something shifts. Jack begins to linger when he doesn’t have to. Elizabeth learns to read what he means when he doesn’t say much at all.
There’s no grand declaration, no dramatic turning point—just two people shaped by the same relentless environment, finding relief in being understood by someone who doesn’t need things softened.

two weeks ago, robby asked dr. ellie adams if she could switch to the night shift. she was the only option, so she had to say yes. a week later, ellie realized she was actually enjoying the night shifts. the quiet, the calm-it gave her space she hadn’t felt in a long time. and working with dr. abbott made it even more intense.
there was something about the way he looked at her, the subtle touches that lingered a moment too long, the dark humor that matched her own.Bookmarked by Quack21

However, in a freak accident that kills her brother’s wife, Margie finds herself voluntarily uprooting her life in a move to help her widowed brother with the kids. That move? To Pittsburgh. Margie transfers to PTMC as a night attending. It is here that Margie meets a man who appears to echo the men she knew in her darkest times – and he seems to be on the edge of collapse.

Summary
Eventually, one woman, all the way at the end of the bar, did catch his eye. Long blond hair falling loose over her shoulders, a single point of stillness in the otherwise frantic scene. He put his drink down, wiping his palms on his jeans, grabbing his drink again. His palms were immediately wet again, the condescension on the glass. Better than sweat, at least. He made his way over. He leaned against the bar near her, gathering his courage to speak. He hated feeling nervous.
“Uh,” He started. Not his best work, “Hey.” He said. This wasn’t going to go well. She turned around, trying to discern if he was talking to her or not, and his heart nearly jumped out of his chest, it was trying to climb up his throat and out of his mouth, which made speaking hard.
“Dr. Langdon ?” Mel said, smiling widely.
“Uh,” He said, sweating.

Summary
“Oh God”, I say softly, dropping my pen on my notebook. “I remember where I know Dr Abbot from.”
Mel looks to me from my side, as I stare ahead at the front of the room. “Where?” she questions quietly.
I place my face in my hands, laughing lightly at myself, “I’ve matched with him on 3 different dating apps, and we’ve talked on them all, and never met up.” I mumble out.
“What?” she asks, not understanding me.
I sit up a little, looking at her and dipping my head to repeat what I said quietly. She looks at me with wide eyes, “This is a disaster.” I say to her when I pull back away from her.

Summary
Frank starts peppering kisses all over her face, from her cheeks to her nose to her jaw. "You loooove me," he teases playfully, squeezing her waist as he keeps kissing her, making her laugh. "You wanna maaarry me."
"You're ridiculous," Mel tells him when he finally pulls away for longer than a second, but she's smiling up at him, and she's sure that the look on her face can only be described as "stupidly lovestruck." (Becca's words. Cheesy, but accurate.)
Frank smiles seeing it, and that's all that matters, really. He has a similar look on his face most of the time anyway.
