"Alastor had factored in the possibility of his little… affliction… rearing its ugly head when he had been formulating this scheme to become Vox’s prisoner. After all, he wasn’t one to rush into action without careful consideration and planning. In the end, he had decided that the merits of escaping his soul bond had outweighed any possible discomfort he would endure while under Vox’s imprisonment.
That decision had been made by a more clear-headed Alastor. One that didn’t feel like there was a railroad spike lodged in his skull.
He wished he could go back in time and strangle that version of himself."

”You’d call everything off right now, just for this?”
Just for this, he says. As though it’s trivial. As though it isn’t everything that Vox has dreamt of every night for the past several decades. As though the rejection doesn’t sting just as sharply every time he wakes up and reaches to the other side of a cold bed, hands searching for a lover that will never be there, and hears callous laughter echoing in the back of his skull.
Vox sucks in a shaky breath, closing his eyes. He tilts his face downward, unable to look at Alastor when he admits it. He almost can’t bring himself to, sure that Alastor is already certain of the answer.
”Yes,” he whispers.
”You can’t be serious,” Alastor says quietly.

“I remember this one,” Vox says.
Alastor’s humming stops. Anxiety tastes like acid on the back of Vox's tongue.
“As do I,” Alastor admits.
Vox swallows past the lump in his throat. He can taste smoke in the air, feel Alastor’s hair brushing the edge of his face in his memories.
“Dance with me?” he asks.
Alastor freezes.
Vox freezes.
They stare at each other wordlessly, twin expressions of shock and apprehension.
There are ghosts behind Alastor’s grin. He wonders if Alastor can see the moments that haunt him too, a thousand memories pixelating into a reckless longing reflected in his wide eyes.

Alastor glares up at his shadow from over his pillow, claws clenched around his pillow with his fawn spots bending with his knuckles. His shadow glares back, hissing in annoyance like an ignored dog, all eyes, mouth and edges of darkness. "Don't you look at me like that," He hisses in much of a similar manner, he raises a hand to clutch his skull as if that will soothe his bone deep pain. He faceplants into the pillow, hearing the slink of his shadow out of the room. Good. Maybe It will let this go until the damned sickness is out of him and won't prod him about it. He wouldn't loose everything he fought and sacrificed his soul for to a flu. He wouldn't allow it of himself

Shadows dance across the roads and wall outsides to the cities of pride. The bustling of the growing entertainment district splashes swirling darkness over every surface. Amongst them is a shadow without a man to cast it. Alastor's shadow chases after the last sight of the one man who isn't scared of him...Alastor Gets Sick and locks himself up in his home, Alastor's shadow goes out to grab Vox to take care of him

Wordlessly, he pays, leaving a few bills more than he should on the counter. Boy, oh, boy, he is so getting laid tonight.Or: It's a hot day in Hell. Vox is staying at the Hotel, somehow still welcome after his stunt with the Might of Lilith. Powerless and stupidly in love, he goes out to buy some flowers for the only person who still dares to love him as he is.
