In 2166, you can erase your mind for a paycheck.
In the 22nd century, a person down on their luck can go to their local Helping Hands Recruitment Center and apply to be a Hand. Their memories, personality, and will are wiped or suppressed, making them susceptible to suggestion. These Hands make the perfect workers; everything from fast-food servers to child caretakers. Since their invention, Hands have lowered crime rates, increased productivity in
every field, allowed jobs to stay open that were headed toward automation, and give people and their families a steady paycheck.
But a rise in protests and rallies against Helping Hands Inc. has raised certain questions.Do we have the right to erase human beings?
Are Hands even human?
What are our responsibilities when we know something is unjust? -

It’s the suspicion in Scott’s eyes, the hunter blankness in Allison’s that hurts the most. It’s the way they have Lydia behind them, the look of fear in her eyes, the way Isaac and Boyd flank Derek, who looks at him with the most confusing face. He’s seen Derek angry, distrustful, betrayed, and in pain. He’s seen him smile. He’s seen his face human and werewolf. Even when Derek kissed him, he wasn’t so vulnerable. Because Stiles isn’t supposed to be like this. Stiles is human, loud, obnoxious, a pain in the ass, a constant for Derek. He isn’t supposed to be this.

Summary
A hand grasped his arm, sending a brief thrill down Merlin's nerves as he was forced around to face the person behind him. Armour gleamed in the firelight: supple chainmail glinted, and the solid iron of a pauldron curved lovingly over one broad shoulder. The length of a sword blade separated them. The point hovered, steady and sure, over Merlin's heart, braced to run him through, but he did not care about any of that. He was too busy drinking in the sight of the man before him.

Summary
