Summary
It was too late to cook himself a proper meal in the kitchen and he didn't feel like putting in the effort when he thought about the cleaning up he would have to do if he didn't want to face an angry conductor the next morning. He could go to the party car and grab some snacks from the bar but that would mean facing Shush and he really did not want to do that when sleep deprived.
So that only left the Synthesizer in the parlor car as his best option. He could quickly put together something that resembled a proper balanced meal even.
Little did Dan Heng know, that what was supposed to be a quick meal will end up becoming one of the weirdest nights he has ever experienced, this life and past life combined.

“I clearly remember you telling me about how a senior crew member will be arriving today.” Phainon asked,“Shouldn't you be at the plaza to greet them?”
“Nah it's alright,” Caelus said, continuing to tap away at the teleslate, “Mr.Yang has the map, he can take care of himself...he likes exploring.”
Phainon faltered at that. So it was Mr.Yang who'd be arriving today. He'd heard Caelus mention the senior often, along with the Navigator Himeko and the Conductor PomPom. Caelus would sigh about how Mr. Yang would love the Janus puzzles or the Grove's tomes. And how the tired old man would appreciate the baths and how the massages offered there could be good for his aching back.
Which was why the Trailblazer's nonchalance stumped him. Caelus usually seemed so attentive to the senior's needs but now was okay with him wandering Okhema on his own? What if he got lost?!

"After a while, the pup associates obedience with positive outcomes, which leads to a repetition in wanted behavior," Mydei continues. "The click must only be pressed after compliance, not a moment before."
Phainon blinks as she watches Mydei say, hand. The puppy reaches her paw out, placing it on Mydei's palm. Click. A treat, a murmur of praise. Good, good, good.
"Sit up," Mydei demands. Phainon doesn't even recognize what she's doing until seconds later; tomato-faced at the dawning realization that she'd straightened her own spine, slightly, at Mydei's words. A flutter in her chest when that click sounds, and Mydei coos, "Good puppy."
And, well, Phainon is ridiculously, profoundly, severely fucked.
Phainon has been dropping by the pet shelter Mydei volunteers at often, and seems to have discovered something new about herself along the way.

No one was as qualified to call themselves a Mydeimos Super Fan as Okhema Security Pvt. Ltd.'s most diligent cog in the system; Phainon.
A lucky opportunity had him brushing shoulders with an old bandmate from Mydei's early career days, and perhaps, if he was even luckier, the man of the hour himself. And so, Phainon hatched a semi-professional plan of working his way into his Idol's good graces.
What Phainon's plan, namely, did *not* involve was punching said Idol's million-dollar face to save his boss from a PR disaster. Nor did he expect it to work.
