“Is that… you, Viktor?”
It was barely more than a whisper, but he almost couldn’t bring himself to ask in the first place. The question scared him, the coming answer he feared even more. He knew the question was callous and loaded, but he had to know.
Those warm eyes faltered and became reproachful, they averted with a look of guilt, his eyebrows scrunching together. Viktor hugged his good knee tighter to his chest, his short and shallow breathing and his tightened lips betraying the hurt he felt at the question. The creases at the side of his nose deepened in dismay in the way only Viktor's face suited. All of these things told Jayce everything he needed desperately to know; this wasn’t the serene herald, or even the maniacal machine herald.
This was Viktor.

Summary
Six years after he and Viktor part ways on antagonistic terms, Jayce wakes up in the Machine Herald’s medical clinic.
Jayce desperately wants to rub at his forehead, but the binding at his wrist stops him. He settles for squeezing his eyes shut. “Why?” he asks.
Viktor is silent for barely a moment. He says, tonelessly, “I assumed this was preferable to dying.”

Summary

Summary
"I love your tattoos," Hob mimics, in an overly lovestruck tone of voice. He bats his eyelashes for good measure. "Do you have more? Can you show me? It's totally okay if you have to take off your clothes, by the way. I just want to appreciate the artistry."
Dream fixes him with what is probably supposed to be a blank stare, but Hob can see the way he's biting back a smile. "Are you done?"
"Painting for the day? Yes. Teasing you? No, probably not."
