Summary
I tried to keep my face impassive as my little brother hurtled through the air.
It did not pay to show weakness while in the company of other gods. Passion, yes- but not weakness. That’s why Father had called a council meeting, after all. To show us Apollo’s trials, everything my twin would have to suffer through for having dared to oppose him. It was his way of reinforcing his iron grip on us, of showing he still had power, after the debacles and humiliation from the Second Titan War and the Second Giants War - particularly the latter, as Zeus did more to hinder the efforts to combat Gaea than to help. If we’d all done what he’d commanded, we’d be destroyed by now.
Zeus would never admit to that. Not out loud. But he knows we’re all thinking it.
So naturally, my little brother is his scapegoat.

He offered to do this once- one time!- and now four days in a row? Since when did the Hunters of Artemis need “days off?” But no more! Tomorrow the girls would be back and life could go back to normal.
Apollo silently fumed to himself as he drove the stupid moon chariot through the night sky. How could Artemis do this to him? Wasn’t she usually the one lecturing him about responsibility?
One of the deer let out a loud snort and tried to jerk the chariot the other way. “Oh, I don’t think so, you four-legged menace,” he muttered.
Why was he always the one to end up in these kinds of situations?

But even through all of the endless questions she had of how, why, what now, she still made sure that she flew down to Ithaca every day, either choosing to be invisible or lurk in the trees as an owl and watched as Odysseus played with Eurylochus and Polites, watching as the three boys ran around the woods. Though oftentimes, the former two ran while the latter one merely followed. They acted like the children they were, but not how Athena remembered them to be.
Perhaps if there was a way, she would have gone to the underworld and demanded her grandfather's council — after all, Kronos was the Titan of time. Perhaps it was he who could explain how she had come to the situation she was in.
And where she was, was back in time, back in the past.

He can't help but wonder if Odysseus was just too ashamed to come back to such a disappointment of a son. Telemachus would be too."
