Summary
The walls were closing in but he wasn’t strong enough to hold them back. As much as he wanted to clean up the mess he'd made of his life he just couldn’t find the strength. There was no way out... it was just too late. There was only one thing left to do.
He tidied the apartment as best he could, donated his clothes to goodwill, emptied his fridge and gave the leftovers to the homeless. All that was left was the hardest part. Writing the letter... The last piece of him his family would have, but they probably wouldn't want. He grabbed the pen and paper and began. -

Summary
When Chimney walked through the firehouse doors, head held high with a cocky walk to match, Buck felt his heart drop to the floor. He knew Chimney was back in town, he just hadn't realised the man would be back at work so soon. With every 'welcome back' and friendly hug the paramedic received from various firefighters, the tension between him and Buck grew and grew. Buck had no idea what Chimney would do when they finally came face to face again, given that the last time they spoke ended with a black eye.

Summary
When he eventually returned to LA, things had settled. Athena had managed to knock some sense into Bobby and he was finally welcomed back to the 118 with open arms. He was home. But he couldn’t help but feel like something was missing. It was like playing the guitar once again had awoken something in him he’d buried long ago. So, the night after his first shift back, he went out and bought a new guitar.
For months he played in the comfort of his own home, not yet confident enough to share with the 118. He still played for Maddie though, enjoying the smile on her face as his fingers plucked the strings. He'd missed it. Music made him feel completeSeries

Summary
After the lawsuit, Buck returns to the 118, but nothing is the same.
His family avoids him, conversations stop when he walks into a room, and even Eddie keeps him at arm’s length. Every shift is a reminder of the trust he broke and the home he lost.
He tells himself he deserves their distance, even the hostility from coworkers who blame him for things they never say out loud.
Buck turns to the one thing he left behind when he moved to LA, music. Under the pseudonym Leon Stark, he uploads a single late-night song he never meant anyone to hear.
People hear it anyway.
As Buck’s hidden music begins to gain unexpected attention, the distance at the 118 only grows
Eddie struggles with guilt, the team misinterprets Buck’s withdrawal, and Buck himself is torn between the life he built and the one that’s calling him back.

Summary
Buck hated hospitals. It made him think of his first date with Abby, of the truck bombing, of the embolism, of the tsunami. Just, a lot of bad memories, is all.
Which is why he had wanted to tell everyone so quickly. Just so he didn’t have to go to this appointment on his own. Last week he had gone alone, thinking it would be just another check up and then his doctor had looked at him with pity in his eyes and told him they’d found abnormalities in his blood work and they needed him to stop taking his blood thinners and come back in a week.
His doctor had been simultaneously vague and clear when he told him what they would be looking for. Listing all the possible reasons that his blood cell counts were off. But on that list was cancer and Buck knew that with his fucking luck, it would be that. The look on his doctor’s face made him think that he thought so too.
or
Buck had meant to tell everyone, he had, really. But they were angry with him and he didn't want them to forgive him just because he might be dying. He needed to fix things first.

Summary
“Hi, I’m Buck, a firefighter with the 136,” for now, the thought crashes through Buck, leaving a sour taste in his mouth. “Uh, you’re both welcome to take a tour with us, if you’d like.” Buck awkwardly scratches at his neck, running a hand through his hair, unsure what else to do, and it spurs the man in front of him to take a large step forward up to Buck’s bed.
“Eddie,” he says, thrusting a hand to him, and Buck reaches over without a second thought. His whole palm feels electric, it smarts and carries the touch of Eddie, Eddie, that Buck feels it completely. He has no idea what’s happening to him. “Edmundo Diaz, but just Eddie though, uh, no one calls me Edmundo. Right. I’m a new nurse here, at Cedars-Senai. Oh –”

When Daniel Buckley lives a little longer, Evan Buckley dies a little more. And this is how Eddie Diaz saves him, a little later on.

Summary
Buck hated full moons. He swore that they made everything crazy, despite the way Eddie swore he was just being superstitious.
If Buck had realized today was the full moon, he would’ve called in sick. But after mixing up the days, Buck finds himself trapped in a room with a crazy scientist trying to plan an anthrax attack. Buck is left alone to deal with him, while exposed to the developing anthrax spores. Buck has to get out on his own before it’s too late. But he’s never been one to abandon someone in need.
He really should’ve called in sick.
